Annette has three children, of whom she has raised, mostly as a single mother, while juggling being an artist, paying bills and all the other challenges one faces when rearing children in today’s society.

Her youngest was born with Down Syndrome (currently renamed “Up Syndrome”) and a heart defect.  He never learned to speak and currently attends Phoenix Day School for the Deaf and has learned to communicate with sign.  Annette has learned with him and can now interpret, Spanish, English and some American Sign Language, when needed!  She resides in Central Phoenix, making it easy to cycle to locations around there.  She cares about the environment and involves recycled glass in some of her art, which she’ll also share with children in her residencies.
